What to Expect at Pioneer Point

From admission to discharge, here’s what the treatment process looks like.

Before Admission

Initial Contact

You'll call or submit a form. Our admissions team will answer your questions, explain how the program works, and verify insurance.

Assessment

We'll complete a phone assessment to understand your loved one's substance use history, mental health, trauma background, and treatment goals.

Detox Coordination (if needed)

We coordinate safe, medically supervised detox with trusted partners offsite. Once complete, he transitions directly into our program under the care of our medical director and onsite nursing staff.

Travel and Arrival

We'll coordinate travel to our facility near Lake Tenkiller. If your loved one is traveling from out of state, we can help arrange transportation.

First Week

Intake and Orientation

Your loved one will meet the clinical team, complete a full assessment, and receive a personalized care plan with clear goals.

Settling In

The first few days focus on adjustment, building trust with staff and peers, and beginning to engage with the structure and routine of the program.

Family Contact

You'll receive an initial update from the clinical team within the first few days.

During Treatment

Daily Structure

Each day includes individual therapy, group therapy, 12-step meetings and step work, life skills training, nature-based activities, meals and downtime, and evening reflection or peer connection.

Clinical Progress

Men work through trauma using EMDR, IFS, or CBT, complete written step work, practice coping skills and stress management, participate in family therapy sessions, and build accountability with peers and staff.

Family Involvement

You'll receive scheduled updates, participate in family therapy sessions, and access our family education program.

Preparing for Discharge

Aftercare Planning

In the final weeks of treatment, we create a step-down plan that includes sober living referrals if needed, outpatient therapy connections, 12-step meeting commitments, alumni programming, and family support resources.

Discharge Session

Before your loved one leaves, we'll meet with him and family members to review the plan, answer questions, and set clear expectations for the next steps after treatment.

What Happens After Residential Treatment?

First 90 Days

The first three months after treatment are critical. We stay connected through alumni check-ins, outpatient therapy support, family aftercare resources, and 12-step meeting accountability.

Ongoing Alumni Support

Men have access to monthly alumni calls, annual alumni retreats, peer mentorship, and ongoing contact with our team.

What Families Can Expect

Throughout the process, you can expect clear communication with no surprises, scheduled updates and involvement opportunities, honest feedback about progress and challenges, and support for your own questions and concerns. You’re part of the team. We’ll make sure you’re informed and prepared at every step.
