OUR TEAM

Meet the people behind Pioneer Point Recovery.

Our Approach to Staffing

Pioneer Point is built by people who understand addiction and recovery from personal and professional experience. Our team includes licensed therapists, certified addiction counselors, case managers, and support staff who believe in second chances because many of us needed one ourselves.

We hire for character, lived experience, and clinical skill. We don’t just treat addiction. We’ve lived it, studied it, and committed our careers to helping others heal.

Meet the Team in Person

When you visit or admit to Pioneer Point, you’ll meet the people who will walk with you through this process. We’re here to help.

CORBIN BIGHEART, MHA

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, Corbin Bigheart’s connection to Pioneer Point Recovery is deeply personal. After finding recovery from his own struggle with addiction in 2015, Corbin moved to Texas and began what would become a decade-long career in substance use disorder treatment. What began as a personal journey grew into a professional calling, as he progressed from working directly with individuals in early recovery to senior executive leadership.

Corbin has spent the bulk of his career in behavioral healthcare in Central Texas, holding leadership roles across recovery services, treatment operations, program administration, and executive management. His experience spans residential and outpatient treatment, organizational growth, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, and the use of data and measurable outcomes to improve treatment quality.

Corbin earned his undergraduate degree in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Trinity University. His approach to leadership combines the perspective of a person in recovery with the discipline of healthcare administration and more than a decade of hands-on experience in the treatment field.

After building his life and career in Texas, Corbin returned his focus to his home state to help create Pioneer Point Recovery. He believes effective treatment should do more than help someone stop using drugs or alcohol—it should help people understand what drives their addiction, repair relationships, develop meaningful connection, and build a life they genuinely want to protect. His goal at Pioneer Point is to build the kind of treatment organization he would have wanted for himself and his family when he was searching for recovery—and to build it in the state he has always considered home.

Outside of Pioneer Point, Corbin shares his life with his wife, Jaime, who is also in recovery, and their two dogs, Ellie and Coco. A proud Oklahoman through and through, he is a lifelong Oklahoma Sooners fan and an avid golfer who can usually be found on a golf course whenever life and work allow.”

Peter Piraino, LMSW

Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder

Born and raised on Long Island, NY, Peter earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University. His career spans more than a decade of clinical and leadership experience in the field of substance use treatment. From teaching social work students at Stony Brook University, to providing individual and group therapy in adolescent and adult treatment settings, to serving in leadership and management roles at some of the nation’s most respected treatment centers, Peter has built a career centered on both excellence in treatment and quality of client care.

In 2014, Peter relocated to Texas with his wife, son, and their five dogs, where he continued to expand his experience in the substance use treatment field. Today, Peter and his wife reside in Vian, Oklahoma, where he serves as a Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Pioneer Point Recovery.

Peter’s passion is helping organizations deliver first-class, affordable, and ethical substance use treatment while creating environments where both clients and staff can thrive. His approach combines clinical experience with hands-on operational and leadership expertise, with a strong belief that excellent treatment begins with putting people first.

Reflecting on his work in the field, Peter says, “I could not be more excited for, and humbled by, the opportunity to contribute to an organization dedicated to changing lives and raising the standard of care for individuals and families affected by substance use disorder.”

Lance Risher

Director of Admissions

Originally from Laurel, Mississippi, Lance’s work at Pioneer Point Recovery is rooted in his own journey through addiction and recovery. After struggling with drugs and alcohol from his teenage years, Lance entered treatment in Texas and got sober in 2017. It was there that he met Corbin and Peter—relationships formed during a pivotal chapter of his life that would eventually help shape the foundation of Pioneer Point Recovery.

After getting sober, Lance dedicated his professional life to the treatment industry. Today, as Director of Admissions, he helps individuals, families, and referral partners navigate the first steps toward care. Drawing from his own experience, Lance understands the fear, uncertainty, and hope that often accompany asking for help. He works to make entering treatment as straightforward, supportive, and personal as possible.

For Lance, Pioneer Point is more than a career. It is an opportunity to build alongside the people who played an important role in his recovery and to help others find the same chance to change their lives.

Outside of work, Lance has a lifelong passion for the game of golf. During his active addiction, he briefly pursued a professional golf career, but sobriety allowed him to reconnect with the game in a healthier and more meaningful way. Today, he competes as an elite amateur in USGA events, with Corbin serving as his caddie—a partnership that reflects both their shared recovery journey and the lasting friendship built along the way.

When Lance isn’t helping someone take the first step toward treatment or competing on the golf course, he’s happiest spending time with his fiancée, Shaylin, or at home with their puppy, Penny, and their cats.
